Federal Minister for Information Technology and Telecommunication Dr Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui visited Special Communications Organization (SCO) on Wednesday. On his arrival, the federal minister was warmly welcomed by Director General of SCO Maj-Gen Ali Farhan (retd). A briefing on SCO was given to federal minister, highlighting various ongoing projects including NGMS and Pak China OFC projects, says a press release issued here.

The federal minister praised the SCO performance and congratulated the management for phenomenal development of IT & Telecom facilities in far-flung areas of AJ&K and GB. He acknowledged the efforts and achievements of the SCO, specially the state of the art NGMS core network, capable of providing 3G/4G services to its customers in the region. He also appreciated completion of phase-1 of Pak China OFC project in a record time. Later. the federal minister planted a sapling at SCO premises.-PR
